New Book Released

I am pleased to announce the release of my latest book, Christian Faith 101: The Basics and Beyond (Valley Forge: Judson Press). Following is a little bit about the book.

Christian Faith 101 is designed for new believers and for other Christians who want the “meat and potatoes” of Christianity. It is a book on the basic and essential doctrines of the Christian Faith.

The book can be used in two settings—the single reader and group study.

Each chapter contains a Basics section and a Beyond the Basics section (except the last chapter), discussion questions, and a Meditations section. The Basics gives you just that—the basics. Beyond the Basics contains a bit more information for those who want to “try the waters” to see if they might like to pursue more advanced theological studies in the future. But one can merely read the Basics section of the chapters and garner much from the book. Meditations end each chapter. They are short devotionals designed to drive home a certain point in the chapter. Readers will find engaging discussion questions at the end of both the Basics and Beyond the Basics sections. Lastly, the book has a handy Glossary of key theological terms.

Christian Faith 101 has four parts and nine chapters. Part one (God) contains chapters one through three—“The Trinity,” “God the Son,” “God the Holy Spirit.” Part two (The Work of Christ) contains chapters four through six—“The Birth, Life, and Death of Christ,” “The Atonement of Christ,” and “The Resurrection and Ascension of Christ.” Part three (Salvation) includes chapters seven and eight—“The New Birth, Adoption, and Justification” and “Sanctification, Resurrection, and Heaven.” Part four (Therefore . . .) features chapter nine—“The Christian Life and the Church.”
